alu PCR lab
for this lab we worked with the PCR methoid of extrqcting DNA. the purpose of this lab was to us our DNA to see which alu alleles we have.
the objectives were to succesfull isolate DNA from cheek cells and to prepare PCR reaction for amplification af an alu insert.
the materials we used for this lab were:
we then place reaction into a thermal cycler.
we then retrieve PCR tube and spin in a microcentrifuge. Then, add 5 microliters of loading dye.
we then Create and pour gels. Add 1x TAE solution.
we then Load 15 to 20 microliters of the DNA/loading dye mixture into a well in your gel.
we then Loaded 5 to 10 microliters of a 100 base-pair ladder (molecular weight marker) into the one well in each gel for later comparison.
we the ran the gels.
